Klein Profijt is the name of a small nature reserve near Rhoon. Rhoon is a village south of Rotterdam. The place is situated on the banks of the river ‘Oude maas’. It is a so called freshwater tide area, which means that the area is flooded two times a day with fresh riverwater. It is not an exciting area to walk through. One footpath in a straight square leads you through the willows. But there is one reason to go there. The Spindotter (what is the english name for it?) is flowering in huge amounts.
A rare bright yellow flower only to be seen in this kind of areas in early springtime.
